In short: Tessera DM and its browser extension do not collect, sell or share your personal data. There are no ads, no analytics and no account. Your downloads stay on your PC.

The browser extension

The Tessera DM extension (for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and other browsers) sends information only to the Tessera DM app on your own computer, at localhost. It never sends anything to us or to any other server. To hand a download over to the app, it sends:

the link of the file or video, and the address of the page it came from;
the page title, used to give the file a clean name;
the cookies for that link, so downloads that need you to be logged in keep working.

The extension stores its own settings (for example, which file types to catch) in your browser.

The Tessera DM app

The app keeps your download list, settings and torrent data in a folder on your PC (%LOCALAPPDATA%\TesseraDM). We cannot see this data. The app connects to the internet only to:

download the files you ask for — it connects to the website or server of each file;
torrents — like every torrent app, it connects to trackers and other peers, who can see your IP address while you download or share;
check a license key — when you activate Pro or Plus, the key and your computer's name are sent to our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, to confirm the key and count your activated PCs. The app re-checks the key from time to time;
video sites (Plus) — the first time you use this feature, the app downloads the free tools yt-dlp and ffmpeg from GitHub.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email and payment details to process the order and send your license key. See the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy. We receive your name, email and order details so we can help you with your license.

Your choices

You can remove the extension or uninstall the app at any time. Uninstalling the app does not delete your downloaded files. To delete the app's data, remove the %LOCALAPPDATA%\TesseraDM folder. To ask about or delete your order data, contact us.
